At Heron Day Nursery, we are committed to providing a rich, nurturing and inspiring environment where every child can thrive. Our curriculum is designed to support children to become confident, capable and resilient learner who are prepared for the next stage of education.
We believe that children learn best through meaningful experiences, secure relationships and high-quality interactions. Through our curriculum, we aim to ensure that every child develops knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to become school ready and lifelong learners.
School Readiness
We prepare children for a successful transition to school by developing key skills the children need to access learning confidently. We support children to:

Independence
Independence is promoted throughout every aspect of nursery life. Children are encouraged to:

Our Curriculum Implementation- 'How We Do It'
Our Implementation is our pedagogy, what we do and how we teach our curriculum. This is what we do every day to ensure each child is making progress on their learning journey with us. We spend our time to get to know the child and gain knowledge of each individual child's baseline. Our curriculum is delivered through a balance of child-led, adult guidance experiences, in the moment activities and carefully planned learning opportunties. Practitioners use observations, assessments and children's interest to provide engaging experiences that build upon learning and support progress across all areas of the EYFS.
Our Curriculum Impact- 'How Has It Worked'
Our Impact is to review our learning process and to see what impact this has had on the children's development. Children leave Heron Day Nursery as confident, independent and enthusiastic learners. They are effective communicators, have positive relationships with others, demonstrate resilience when faced with challenges and possess the knowledge, skills and experiences needed to be saucersful in school and beyond.
